Eight hundred miles on foot Derek Bowshier '06 felt called to do something drastic to grow with God. So he listened and did what some might deem a little bit crazy. He put on walking shoes, donned a pack, brought along a hammock, and some food and started walking to Pennsylvania - from Illinois.
What he learned and saw has him convinced he will never be the same.

As a tangible reminder of the service of our veterans and current soldiers, the Village of Bourbonnais, in partnership with Olivet, plans to construct a Veterans Freedom Sign to be located on campus.
The sign will serve as a place to honor the names of veterans and service people currently enlisted who reside or have ever lived in the Kankakee region. The project is to help in honoring Veteran's Day 2008.
