Hiking the campaign trail
Tricia Miller '06 has an apartment near the epicenter of our nation's political life. But one wouldn't know she resides near Washington, D.C., because these days, she rarely sleeps in her Alexandria, Va., abode.

As a campaign reporter for NBC News and National Journal, Tricia covers Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards full-time on the campaign trail.

Worlds apart
Gleaming balloons bob and sway in the airport hangar, gripped by the waiting hands of families at long last being reunited with dads, brothers and husbands.

The awaited military plane screeches to a halt on the runway as soldiers returning from Iraq march off the plane in full camouflage attire.

Captain Ben Kayser '02 was among the soldiers returning home to his wife, Elizabeth "Betts" (Babcock) Kayser '02, and their two daughters Grace and Bella.

A play on words
Brenda (McCorkle) Nixon's '76 livelihood depends on words. As a professional speaker, writer and media guest on child behavior and parenting issues and through her published written work she has reached countless people.

But the so-called glamorous life of a writer is a far cry from the realities of Brenda's days

Molly Cable '04
Molly (Robertson) Cable dreamed of working with animals as a veterinarian since she was two. Many children share her goal at that early age, but what set Molly apart was a drive to make her goal a reality.

Currently a doctoral candidate in the veterinarian medicine department at Purdue University, Molly gleans hands-on training during her summers and school breaks as a veterinary assistant at an animal hospital while she works toward her life goal of becoming a veterinarian.
