In the Midst of Storms
Walking with people through sorrow and joy is a pivotal part of Chaplain Phil Pinckard's '73 ministry. He comforts people who have walked through many of the same sorrows he has endured himself.

Phil gave his life fully to God while at Olivet. Sanctified by the Holy Spirit at the altar of College Church, Phil devoted himself to prepare for ministry and committed his dating life to God.

Second Chance: Businessman and Former Prison Inmate Redeemed to Help Others
The metal prison door clicked closed, ending the youth that Karlton Harris '02 had known and changing his life forever. At 18, he was sentenced to as many years in prison for dealing drugs and guns.

Raised by his single mom, Karlton looked to his older brother to be his male role model. He began emulating him. That meant spending time on the streets and dabbling in drugs. It meant trouble lurked around every street corner he frequented.

Thrice Blessed
The number three holds a special significance for the Joe '98 and Mary Elise (Dillinger) '97 Meek family.

Three was the number of times their infant son stopped breathing and nearly lost his life, and the number of times he was miraculously saved. Three misdiagnoses it took before the young boy's true life-threatening medical condition was discovered.

Amanda Jensen '03
The gritty slap of the ball into Amanda Jensen's '03 leather softball glove echoes throughout the Mid-Michigan Ice grandstand. The professional softball shortstop has done it again. Three outs, and a score in the Ice's favor.

Growing up, Amanda recalls fond memories of watching her dad play baseball and playing the game herself in youth leagues and whenever she could get her hand in a glove.
