A balancing act Anna (Babinski) Welsh '01 has had quite the year of firsts.
After becoming a first-time mom last fall, Anna coached the Bethel College softball team to its first NAIA National Tournament this past spring.
The balancing act of work and family is a task she's up for — especially since it includes having her husband, Jeff, as her assistant coach and taking little Izabelle on the road with the team.
Driving it home Landon Colling '02 didn't necessarily see driving in his future. It was more of a pastime and something he only did on occasion between medical school exams and ophthalmology residencies.
But this isn't ordinary in-your-car driving.
This driving deals with lush fairways, mega distance and a flawless swing. And Landon is pretty good at hitting his golf ball a hearty yardage — his personal best, 384 yards, is just two yards below Tiger Woods' — a trait his family and friends noticed.
Buy a Jaguar, build a chapel An ONU alumnus, who wishes to remain anonymous, will donate the proceeds from the sale of a 1970 XKE OTS Custom Gran Turismo Jaguar convertible to Olivet Nazarene University for use in helping fund the Kenneth and Betty Hawkins Centennial Chapel.
Benji Burchfield '83 Traveling the country, spreading the Word through music, is something that comes naturally to Benji Burchfield '83 — it's in his blood.
Growing up in a family of musicians, the sounds of Appalachia reverberated through the house. His dad, Riley F. '52, played guitar, fiddle and banjo; his mother, Mildred, plays classical piano and the accordion.
From a very early age, Benji remembers hitting the road with the family (and the dog), traveling to revivals and camp meetings. Dad would preach, mom would do chalk art and the whole family — including four siblings — would play.
