Box Score
BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - The Olivet Nazarene University women's basketball team defeated the Illinois Institute of Technology Scarlet Hawks this afternoon with a final score of 101-47. The Tigers were currently coming off a rough stretch of four consecutive losses, and were looking to turn things around.
With the loss of Danielle Pipal due to a knee injury in last Wednesday's game vs. Bethel College (Ind.), the Tigers had to come together with a dwindling roster, and they did just that. The Tigers dominated today's contest in just about every category and ended the game shooting 42.4 percent from the field, compared to IIT's 26.7 percent.
Four Tigers reached double figures in points, led by Courtney Hehn's (Monticello, Ind) 20. Brooke Peterson (Arlington Heights, Ill.) ended the game with 17, while Jealyn Foston (Cassopolis, Mich.) chipped in 13 and Holly Wiersema (Rockford, Ill.) had 10 of her own.
With today's victory, the Tigers currently hold an 11-7 season record and are 1-0 in conference play. Their next contest is next Saturday, as they take on Robert Morris College (Ill). Game time is yet to be announced.
