Coach Hodge helps bolster perimeter with Yeakley

Hodge and Tiger Men’s Basketball added its third member to the ’09 recruiting class on Tuesday, April 21; CJ Yeakley, a 6’1” guard from Decatur, Ill. CJ played for Warrensburg-Latham High School all four years and had a very successful career not only as an individual but played only very good teams.
Yeakley's career was highlighted by their 3rd place finish in the 2008 IHSA 1A State Basketball Finals and his Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Honorable Mention selection as a senior. He averaged 19 points, 7 rebounds, 3.5 assists per game, and shot over 50% from the field as a senior and was named to a number of accolades. During and following his senior campaign, CJ was named First Team All Okaw-Valley Conference, First Team Macon County, and played in the IBCA, Macon County, and Okaw-Valley all-star games.
Yeakley will be asked to play the off-guard position and handle the ball. CJ has the ability and willingness to shoot the ball with efficiency and play fundamentally with and without the ball. However, his most valuable abilities are his toughness and aggressiveness; being that he can get down low, play strong and play bigger than he is listed; which makes him suited for Tiger Basketball.
