Olivet Nazarene University

Nick Birkey is in second year as the Men’s Sports Information Director for Olivet Nazarene University.

Birkey became a part of ONU’s Athletic Department while being asked to serve as the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach. Birkey is in charge of all stat-compiling, reporting, and research. He also oversees all supervision and coordinatio of game-management duties and personnel, and is heavily involved in website editing and updating. Birkey also writes articles/publications on ONU's teams, for the school's newspaper, the Glimmer Glass, and the Olivetian, and also works as the department liaison with local and regional media outlets.

He also has the privilege of working with personnel at Olivet's radio station 89.7 Shine.fm, recording football and men's basketball pre-game shows before each game. Birkey also is responsible for working with ONU’s Media and Marketing departments and deals with opposing university athletic relations. He also is in direct contact with conference and national offices.

Birkey graduated from ONU with his Bachelor's degree in 2007 in Business Administration and Sports Management. He also plans on pursuing his Master’s Degree here at Olivet.

Birkey goes on to say about taking on the Men’s SID responsibilities, “It is an honor and privilege to work within such a great department and be able to serve in such an outstanding role.”
