Dr. Stephen Franklin is a professor of theology in the School of Theology and Christian Ministry at Olivet and also serves as the director of graduate studies. His academic interests include philosophical theology, systematic theology and the history of Western thought.

Dr. Franklin has been honored as President Emeritus of Tokyo Christian University and with a Ford Foundation Fellowship. He also serves on the international board of directors for William Carey University in Shillong, India.

A published author, Dr. Franklin’s credits include “Speaking from the Depths” (Grand Rapids, Mich., 1991) and “Faith, Learning, and Life: The Identity of a Christian University” (in Japanese: Tokyo, 2006). In his spare time, he also enjoys drama, Oriental art and travel.

Dr. Franklin and his wife, Martha, have two grown children, two grandchildren and a dog. He also has two sisters and two brothers.
