Dr. Jonathan D. Bartling is an assistant professor in the School of Education and serves as the director of assessment and accreditation in the School of Graduate and Continuing Studies at Olivet Nazarene University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Olivet Nazarene University in music education, a Master of Science in education degree from Indiana University-Bloomington with a specialization in instructional systems technology, and a Ph.D. in education from Capella University.
Dr. Bartling has been a faculty member at the University since 2000, working in the media and technical support area as an instructional designer in technology. He moved to the School of Education in 2004, where he teaches instructional technology courses for the undergraduate teacher education program, as well as both core education and educational technology courses for the Master of Education: Curriculum in Instruction, Master of Arts in Teaching, and the Master of Library Information Specialist programs.
In addition to teaching, Dr. Bartling serves as professional development coordinator for the School of Education, serves on the Teacher Education Committee, the NCATE Executive Committee, the NCATE Steering Committee, and is a member of ONU's Assessment Committee and Faculty Retreat Committee. In the School of Graduate and Continuing Studies, he serves as the director of assessment and accreditation, supporting the assessment initiatives of the University, as well as aiding in the preparation of programs for accreditation.
Dr. Bartling is a member of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education, the Illinois Association of Colleges for Teacher Education, the Illinois Association of Teacher Educators in Private Colleges, the Association for Educational and Communication Technology and the International Society for Technology in Education.
