Lisa Gassin

Dr. Gassin has been at Olivet since 1995, but spent 2000-2003 working in Russia. She teaches courses in developmental, social and personality psychology. Her research interests include the psychology of forgiveness, social and moral development, and the psychology of religion.

Dr. Gassin received her Bachelor of Science degree in human development from the University of California-Davis and her Master of Science degree in educational psychology (with an emphasis in gifted education) from Purdue University. Her Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison is in educational and developmental psychology, where she also had minors in research and statistics and moral education.

Dr. Gassin also serves as faculty advisor to the Psychology Club and Psi Chi honor society. She is a founding board member of the International Forgiveness Institute in Madison, Wis. and has a variety of publications and presentations on the topic of forgiveness.

Outside of psychology, her interests are history, theology, literature and digital photography. Typically, Dr. Gassin spends summers in Russia so as to not completely forget the language and culture that she so loves!
