Justin Brown

Dr. Brown was hired at Olivet in the fall of 2009, but has been teaching for six years. He is teaching finite mathematics, calculus 1 and 2, linear algebra and abstract algebra.
Before teaching at ONU, Dr. Brown was a Graduate Assistant at Northeastern University. There, he was named Outstanding Teacher of First Year Engineering Students in 2007. Dr. Brown also collaborated on a published textbook for graduate students studying Algebraic Geometry, which was the focal point of his doctoral research.
As a student at Point Loma, Dr. Brown went on a three week mission trip to Rwanda. He was also involved in a weekly feeding program in downtown San Diego. In Boston, he volunteered with a poverty advocacy group, advocating on behalf of poor families facing difficult financial situations.
In his spare time, Dr. Brown likes watching football, kayaking, playing guitar, and listening to Bob Dylan. He also enjoys spending time with his wife Jody and son, Owen.
