Dr. Brewer joined the Olivet faculty in 2006 as professor of geology in the physical sciences department.
He teaches courses in physical science, geomorphology, geophysics, hydrogeology and geo seminar. He is an excellent teacher and also enjoys working with students outside of the classroom, helping each to achieve his or her best.
Dr. Brewer has worked and lived in a wide variety of locations in the country: California, Nevada, Wyoming, Colorado, Oklahoma, New York and South Carolina. Prior to arriving at ONU, he was a fellow scientist with Bechtel, working at the Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site supporting environmental restoration efforts. His diverse background also includes working as a petroleum engineer and systems analyst for a major domestic oil production company.
He has been active in his church’s youth group and was on the elder board. He particularly enjoyed mission trips to Canada, Asia and Africa. He is married to Becky and has two adult children: Thomas, an officer in the Navy, and Molly, a college student.
